Ford Motor Company files lawsuit against Dana

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), a United States-based automaker, has filed a lawsuit against supplier, Dana, over a dispute concerning rusty minivans.

The suit claims that Dana refused to pay the automaker for rotting sub-frames that caused the recall of around 525,000 units of the Windstar minivan. Ford is seeking compensation from Dana for a 2011 recall of Windstar minivans from the 1999 to 2003 model years.

A Ford spokesman, said, ‘Ford is asking the court to enforce the cost sharing terms of our supply agreement with Dana. Ford is seeking the recovery of costs incurred by Ford in connection with certain parts that did not meet Ford’s quality standards or those of our customers.’
