Hyundai Motor Company (KSE: 005380), a South Korea-based automaker, is developing a performance-oriented version of the i30, named the i30 RS.

The vehicle is to compete with the Volkswagen GTI. It will be based on the three-door Europe-only i30. The vehicle is to arrive at European dealerships in early 2014.

The model is equipped with a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder engine that will reportedly deliver more than 200bhp. It features a lowered and stiffened suspension, upgraded brakes, a full body kit, aggressive bumpers at both ends, and model-specific exterior colours.
