Jaguar, a subsidiary of Tata Motors Limited (NYSE: TTM), is launching its track-oriented, street legal XKR-S GT at the 2013 New York Auto Show.
The company’s in-house ETO specialty vehicle group developed the vehicle. It is equipped with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces 550bhp and 502 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a six-speed automatic gearbox. It features a wraparound carbon fibre front air splitter, carbon fibre dive planes and wheel arch extensions, an aluminium front under tray, a carbon fibre diffuser at the rear, all-new front and rear suspension arms, uprights, wheel bearings, bushings and a revised rear sub frame.
The automaker is producing 30 units of the vehicle, with 25 bound for the United States and five for Canada. It is to arrive at dealerships in August 2013, priced from $174,000.
