Toyota Motor Corporation to increase 2012 global sales forecast

Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE: TM) (LSE: TYT) (TYO: 7203), a Japan-based automaker, is planning to increase its 2012 global sales forecast, Yomiuri newspaper has reported.

The automaker is increasing the global sales forecast to 8.8 million vehicles from the 8.58 million announced in February. It is taking this step as it expects solid auto sales in emerging economies.

This move is expected to bring the automaker’s group sales forecast close to 10 million vehicles, from the present outlook of 9.58 million units.
