Aston Martin completes world’s first hydrogen-powered lap of Nurburgring

Hydrogen Fuel Cell

Aston Martin, a United Kingdom-based automaker, has completed the world’s first hydrogen-powered lap of Germany’s Nurburgring.

The milestone was completed over the weekend by Aston Martin’s chief executive officer, Dr. Ulrich Bez, who was behind the wheel of a hydrogen-power Aston Martin Rapide S. The vehicle will compete in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring next month.

The Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S is based on the road-going version of the Aston Martin Rapide S. It is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 engine that operates on hydrogen, petrol or any combination of the two.
