Bentley, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), has received approval for the production of the EXP 9F SUV from its parent company’s board.

The vehicle was launched in concept form at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and is known internally as the ‘Falcon’. It is to arrive at United States dealerships in around three years time, priced from $270,000. The automaker aims to sell 5,000 units of the vehicle per annum.

The production version of the vehicle will be produced in Slovakia, but will be completed at Bentley’s plant in Crewe, England. It is to be equipped with a new 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine, and an optional W12 engine.
