Mazda Motor Corporation (TYO: 7267), a Japan-based automaker, is launching its new CX-9 three-row crossover at the 2012 Sydney motor show.

The vehicle features a new front end that is inspired by the KODO ‘Soul of Motion’ design language, a more upscale interior while retaining the current model’s seven-passenger seating capacity, a new infotainment system and a speech-recognition device that is based on the Human Machine Interface, a lane departure warning system and a high beam control system. It is to be equipped with the automaker’s petrol SkyActiv technologies and will be available with a 3.2-litre V6 engine, coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. The automaker is also launching a four cylinder SkyActiv petrol and diesel engine.

The vehicle is to arrive at United States dealerships before the second half of 2013.
