Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port plant moves to four-day week

Vauxhall, a subsidiary of General Motors Corporation (NYSE: GM), has announced that its Ellesmere Port plant is going to a four-day week.

The subsidiary has taken this step because General Motors is aiming to achieve cost savings in its European operations.

This development comes in the wake of five months of collective effort from Vauxhall, the government and the Unite trade union, which saved the factory from closure.
