Fiat SpA to invest €1.2bn in Maserati

Fiat SpA (NYSE: FIA) (ISE: IT0001976403), an Italy-based automaker, is investing €1.2bn in its luxury brand Maserati.

The company hopes to use its partnership with Chrysler to further the brand in the US. Maserati brand chief executive Harald Wester stated that Fiat will invest in three new Maserati models in a bid to increase sales to 50,000 cars in 2015.

Maserati is aiming to sell around 13,000 of its new four-door Quattroporte sedans in 2013, priced between €100,000 and €150,000 each.
