Volkswagen launches e-up!

Electric Car

Volkswagen AG (Xetra: VW), a Germany-based automaker, has unveiled its e-up! four-seater subcompact at the 2013 Annual Press and Investors Conference in Wolfsburg, Germany.

The vehicle is equipped with an 80bhp electric motor, which is fed by an 18.7 Kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack mounted under the floor that delivers 93 mile driving range and accelerates from zero to 62 in 14 seconds. It features leather and chrome accents in the interior, aerodynamic front and rear fascias, LED daytime running lights that curve around the lower air inlets, 15-inch alloy wheels and blue drop shadows around the logos.

The model is to arrive at European dealerships later this autumn. There is currently no indication as to whether the model will also make its way to the US.
